Many people are astounded by the strength and power that this breed has. But admiring one is quite different from being responsible for one.
Before purchasing this dog, there are some questions one should answer:
If one can provide this and more, then a Bullterrier may be the breed for you.
Miniature Bull Terriers are a popular breed and many people seem to be jumping at the chance to buy one. But there are some things a prospective buyer should consider. First look at the price: these dogs definitely aren’t a dime a dozen. They come with a hefty price tag of $2,500 considering that they are only 150 born annually in the US.
They have small litters and irregular heat cycles which may be a challenge if breeding is the plan. But for the benefit of the dog, there are health concerns: they do not have “typical” hearts and need an echocardiogram at least once a year. PLL or Primary Lens Luxation will need surgery to save their sight. Laryngeal Paralysis can cause them to suffocate and is difficult to diagnose and detect. Deafness is also something common that can affect this breed. These concerns must be seriously thought through before committing to getting a Miniature Bull Terrier.

Dogs may be able to sense natural disasters – in particular, earthquakes.
The Greek historian Thucydides was probably the first to notice this ability.
He described how, days before a cataclysmic earthquake flattened the city of Helice, dogs abandoned the place in their droves. Thucydides was convinced the dogs knew what was coming and had run for their lives.
This has been borne out by scientific studies. One American study found that 17 out of 50 homes near the scene of a Californian quake in 1977 reported odd behaviour in their animals. Evidence ranged from a dog pacing around and fidgeting during its normal nap time to a normally placid dog whining excitedly. Studies in the Mojave desert in the US also found that dogs barked at small aftershocks unnoticed by humans but picked up by seismometers.
The most convincing recent evidence of this came before the Asian Tsunami struck on December 26th, 2004. In the hours before the tsunami many dogs refused to go for their daily walks near the sea. Many dogs were also seen running for higher ground minutes before the lethal tidal wave struck land killing thousands of people, who – unlike their pets – had been oblivious to the threat they faced.
Dogs have become such an important part of our society, that the need for them to fit in well with other human beings and not pose a threat or a disturbance is critical to their long term acceptance by our neighbors and others around us. Not all people are dog lovers and to make sure that they’re not inconvenienced by our pets, training is essential.
Dog training is a repetition of the basic principle of reward and punishment in various forms and combinations. Communication of these signals is the key to proper training. One very important thing to remember is consistency of signals. The reliability of the training depends on how well a dog is able to be sure of what your signals mean.
An important factor is the emotional state of the dog. A dog that is frightened, anxious, or insecure doesn’t train well and this reflects the importance of factors like proper socialization of Miniature Bull Terrier puppies.
A lot of studies have shown that proper puppy socialization goes a long way towards ensuring a good temperament and receptivity towards training. Lots of handling, petting and generally being around humans in their everyday life goes a long way towards making a dog well behaved and easy to train.
Training Miniature Bull Terrier puppies should not begin too early however, as there is evidence to show that before a certain age, the brains of puppies are not significantly developed enough to process complex learning.
Professional dog trainers are best when it comes to training your dog as they will ensure that the proper habits are set for life, including how to behave around strangers. For the safety of your dog, it is your duty as an owner to ensure that he or she is well trained.

When you see a Mini Bull Terrier puppy like this, you immediately forget the reputation that it has been given by the public! Can a face like that hurt anyone? I mean seriously! It is all about love and care.

A Miniature Bullterrier is considered to be a very low-maintenance breed when it comes to grooming, so you are in luck if you are not one for spending hours a day or week on grooming practices. Grooming is easy with this breed, since brushing them with a firm bristle brush is enough. Bathing them or cleansing them all over with a dry shampoo is also enough when necessary. So do not worry. You don’t have a high maintenance dog here !!
Avoid unnecessary vet bills! Do your dog’s basic health check!
Miniature Bull Terriers are known to be stubborn and courageous little dogs! However, they are also little clowns that love to play and are outgoing and happy chappies as well! They don’t seem to realize their own size however, which is a common trait in little dogs with assertive temperaments. Even when confronting an enormous dog they will not back down. They will never admit being smaller! With the right training, confrontations can be avoided of course. This characteristic does not change in the Miniatures. Some people may think that Miniature Bull Terriers are practically a different dog breed to the Bull Terriers of the original size. This is not the case. One must realize and accept the fact that they are the same dogs, except smaller than the normal sized ones. They are very energetic and playful dogs. They love people, and children as well. However, often they don’t get along with other pets. They are variable around other dogs, and young children must be warned to treat them carefully since they are unaware of their own strength, albeit their small size and loving temperament towards children.

…All creatures great and small,
All things wise and wonderful,
The Lord God made them all…
and so the song goes….
